Genting Poker Series to Include 18 Legs in 2017

The last leg of this year’s edition of the Genting Poker Series has just ended on December 11th in Sheffield, and the organisers have already revealed the schedule for the tournament over the upcoming year. As announced, the Genting Poker Series will have a total of 18 stops in 2017.

The beginning of the popular tournament is not too far now, as its fans will be able to join the Series in January 2017. As mentioned above, there will be 18 stops, 17 of which have already been confirmed. The 18th leg is yet to be confirmed by the organisers, but there are rumours that the last leg of the tournament’s 2017 edition could be a season-ending Grand Final.

The first event of the sixth season of the Genting Poker Series is the the Leg 1 Luton from January 18th to January 22nd, 2017. The event will feature a Main Event with a buy-in of £440 and a guaranteed prize pool amounting to £100,000. Then, in February, Newcastle is to host the 2nd leg of the GPS in the period from February 16th to February 19th, with a £220 Buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of £35,000.

March will see a total of three legs of the Genting Poker Series start. Sheffield will host the GPS Third Leg from March 16th to 19th, 2017. It will offer a main event with a £440 Buy-in and a massive guaranteed prize pool prize of £100,000. In addition, two “mini” tournament legs will be featured in March – the one in Liverpool and the one in Reading. Liverpool will host the Genting Poker Series from March 30th to April 2nd, and Reading will see another “mini” start in the same period.

Leg 6 and 7 of the GPS that are to take place in Glasgow and Blackpool, respectively, will also be “mini” events. Glasgow is to host the Series’ events from April 27th to April 30th, 2017, and Blackpool will see them start on May 4th. The 8th leg of the Genting Poker Series is to take place in Westcliff from May 18th to 21st, offering a guaranteed prize pool of £100,000.

Legs 9, 11 and 11 of the GPS in RWB, Luton and Stoke-on-Trent will all be “mini” tournaments with guaranteed prize pools of £35,000. Then, the Leg 12 of the Series will kick off in Liverpool on August 30th, followed by the Leg 13 in Edinburgh. The remaining legs of the Genting Poker Series will all be “mini” events. First, Sheffield will host the 14th Leg of GPS from October 12th to 15th, followed by Torquay that is to see the 15th Leg kick off on October 26th. Westcliff is to host Leg 16 of the Series in November, coinciding with the mini tournament in Newcastle from November 16th to 19th.

As mentioned above, the 18th Leg of the Series has not been officially announced yet and it remains to be seen where, when and in what form it will be held.
